Did you know? The Lion Sleeps Tonight became the Number One billboard hit on this day (18 December) in 1961.
Hope... and a little action
As I was putting together this website, I came across this interesting Facebook post.

No one would have thought that a show so culturally significant as "The Lion King" was "doomed for failure". The original director hated the songs so much that he left for other projects, leaving inexperienced directors to pick up his slack.
Similarly, it strikes me in my line that often, children with special needs such as dyslexia are often deemed as ‘inferior’, ‘hopeless’, ‘stupid’… the list goes on. This is certainly far from the truth. Every child is unique in his/her own right and it is my belief that "every child [can learn at] a different pace". As educators, our job is to support and guide them in their learning journey. This was why I left the formal workplace(s) so that I could reach out to more children and support them on longer-term basis. Hopefully, my plans and teaching could make learning a happier and brighter experience for them – and their parents.
Never believe that a child would ‘never make it’; sometimes, all we need is a little hope and action.
In subsequent posts, I hope to share more about myself, my experiences with working with children, and small tips on helping your child. Stay tuned!
